The Owners of Savoy Caterers

Joe DiAmore and Ralph Aversa dreamed of someday owning a catering business that would allow them to create a customer experience that would be unequaled in the Delaware Valley. After years of looking for just the right place, the perfect opportunity came along. Amazingly, it was The Woodbine Inn/The Woodbine where Joe had been the banquet manager for 12 very successful years between 1975 and 1987. With 45,000 square feet which includes 2 rooms that can hold over 1,000 People, this was the opportunity of a lifetime for Joe and Ralph. The new name is Savoy Caterers and we are here to make your event as special as it can possibly be. Sometimes dreams do come true.

Joe DiAmore is a lifelong South Jersey resident having been born in Camden and attended Merchantville High School in Merchantville, New Jersey where he still resides today. Joe started at an early age in the restaurant and banquet industry learning the business from the bottom up. His goal even as a young man was to someday own his own restaurant which he made a reality in 1992 with the opening of Steak 38 in Cherry Hill. Joe opened this venture at a time when no one was eating red meat. But Joe knew that if he could provide a quality product at a fair and reasonable price, customers would eventually come. And come they did. Joe worked very hard and with success came the spoils. He was able to open a second Steak 38 in Brigantine, New Jersey. This restaurant also was a smash success and both restaurants have won numerous awards and the accolades of their many customers.

Joe has been happily married to Judy for 38 years and they have 3 children Frank, Steve, and Julie.

Ralph Aversa was born in Italy and came to the America at the tender age of 14. As soon as he arrived in Philadelphia in the early 1960's, his aunt got him a job at Cacia's Bakery in South Philadelphia. At an early age, young Ralph was learning a trade that one day would make him a household name in South Jersey. Working a tremendous amount of hours (Ralph still works 7 Days a week) enabled Ralph to go after his dream of owning his own bakery. In 1980, Ralph realized his dream when he opened Aversa's Bakery in South Jersey. Starting with just one employee, the name Aversa became synomous with quality and taste. Aversa imports hundreds of products directly from Italy. As Ralph's success grew so did the demand of his products. Ralph opened his second Aversa's Bakery in Brigantine and today you can find Aversa products from Northeast Philadelphia all the way to Cape May.

Ralph has been blissfully married to Kathy for 20 years and they have 3 children Ralph Jr., Anthony & Jennifer.
